Biography

A Fifth-Generation Nevadan, Built for Family Law

Jessica S. Hanson-Anderson has practiced law in Nevada since 2002. Her primary expertise is family law — divorce, child custody and support, adoption, domestic partnership — with active practices in civil litigation, parenting coordination, mediation, and appellate work.

A fifth-generation Nevadan, Jessica grew up in the state where she now practices. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Oregon (1998) and her Juris Doctorate from the University of San Francisco School of Law (2002).

Beyond the courtroom, Jessica has hosted a legal-advice radio segment on Reno’s Alice 96.5 for thirteen years. She’s the mother of three and CEO of two startups outside her practice — bukit and The Jumble. The bandwidth of a busy family-law practice doesn’t slow her down; it sharpens her perspective.

Practice Focus

Family-First Counsel, Civil-Litigation Range

Family Law

The bulk of Jessica’s practice. Divorce, child custody and support, adoption, domestic partnership, modifications, enforcement, and the parenting coordination that keeps families functional after the order is entered.

Appellate Practice

A trial loss isn’t always the end. Jessica briefs and argues family-law appeals before the Nevada Supreme Court and Court of Appeals — and writes appellate briefs with the rigor the bench expects.

Mediation & Parenting Coordination

When a settlement is the better path, Jessica serves as a neutral mediator and as parenting coordinator for high-conflict cases — keeping families out of court when possible and functional when necessary.

Civil Litigation

When family-law disputes overlap with property, business, or contract claims, Jessica’s civil-litigation experience covers the broader case — not just the family-court piece.
